Daniel Craig is set to leave the iconic role of James Bond in 2019. That being said, Chris Hemsworth has told us whether or not he’d be interested in taking over.
In a brand new interview, the hunky actor admitted that he is a huge fan and would love to play the character.
‘Yeah, I mean, I think any actor would jump at that opportunity. I am certainly a fan.’
Hemsworth has proven that he is more than capable of carrying a franchise with his Thor character and now that Marvel will most probably not going to release any more movies including Thor, we’re sure Chris would love to jump into another big project.
However, the actor is well aware that he would have a lot of competition for the role of James Bond, which also comes with much scrutiny and expectations.
‘A lot of pressure comes with that though – the Bond fan base’s probably more critical than the comic book fan base,’ he stated.
While his blonde hair and imposing frame were perfect assets for his role as the comic book Nordic God, these are characteristics that might work against him in the James Bond universe.
‘I feel like it is an English world. There are plenty of guys who’d do a better job than I would – plenty of men English men or women.’
Did he say ‘women?’ We absolutely love how forward thinking the actor was here.
I mean, he imagined that the classic James Bond might be gender-swapped one day and that sounds great!
Although it sounds like Chris might not go for the opportunity just because he thinks he’s not really fit to play the character, would you like to see his James Bond anyway?
