After Chloe Dykstra penned an essay that detailed years of emotional as well as sexual abuse that she allegedly went through, a lot of people assumed she was talking about Chris Hardwick even though she never mentioned the name of the supposed perpetrator. Hardwick denied he’s ever did something like that and, now, days after his vehement protests, the actress finally took to social media to address the whole thing in a long message.
‘The outpouring of support and love I have received over the past few days has been incredible and unexpected. The people who have come forward with stories validating mine, as well as stories of their personal experiences, have helped me immensely with my healing process. After years of therapy and rebuilding your support has done so much for me than all of it combined,’ Chloe started, addressing her followers.
She also explained that by using her voice and opening about it, ‘women and men on both sides of abuse will make changes to either protect themselves or to stop the cycle of pain their own behavior can cause.’
‘Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.’
Finally, she alluded to Hardwick’s own statement on the matter, saying: ‘Despite recent events, I hope everyone personally affected by my story can find their closure, through the support of their loved ones and friends, the way I also have.’
‘In addition, my heart goes out to all those caught in the fallout. Having been able to lift from my shoulder that which was weighing me down, I am ready to move forward in my life, finally instead of looking back with fear and sadness.’
