Joanna and Chip Gaines just gave birth to their fifth child, a baby boy, according to Us Weekly. The couple announced the news on Instagram earlier today.
Back in January, the reality TV couple revealed they were gearing up to have another child, or in their words, “a little bundle of joy.” Chip and Joanna, who got married back in May 2003, also have four other kids, Drake, Ella, Duke, and Emma Kay, who are 13, 11, 9, and 8, respectively.
It’s no coincidence their children are named after jazz icons, including Ella Fitzgerald and Duke Ellington because the pair are big fans of jazz music. Previously, Chip took to Instagram to say she was pregnant with a boy on the 7th of March.
Joanna told her followers on Instagram that her husband “swore” he could already tell it was a boy by looking at the sonogram. As you may know, this is just one of the changes they made to their lives recently, as they canceled their TV series on HGTV, Fixer Upper, after just five seasons.
Joanna wrote on her blog on the 3rd of April that they were canceling their show for good. She added, “it still seemed so far away,” at the time. During their final season, Chip and Joanna were “knee-deep” in renovating a restaurant.
And will they choose to have another baby? Neither Chip or Joanna have confirmed if they’re going to have an additional child, but a source close to them sat down with us and spoke on the matter.
According to an insider close to Chip and Joanna, “this is their last child, and they’re not looking to have more. Five children are enough.”
“Even though they could easily afford another one, considering they’ve made so much money with their businesses and TV shows, they’re just not interested in a sixth child.”
