Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines have some fixing to do when it comes to their Target home decor line, Hearth & Hand. The HGTV couple is under fire after multiple customers complained about receiving broken items and products with missing pieces that left them complaining during the holidays.
Radar Online is reporting that fans have taken to Twitter to voice their displeasure with the Hearth & Hand products arriving completely broken on their doorstep. One fan posted a photo of his entire order arriving in pieces, while another showed his disgust with the tool bench he bought for his child missing some parts needed to put it together.
“With the missing holes and pieces cut to wrong size, there’s no way to do it. What was supposed to be a highlight Xmas gift for a 3-year-old is now back in the box. What a disappointment” wrote @craigregister.
And he wasn’t the only one that had problems with the tool bench. Multiple tweets about the brand revealed that the product missed holes needed to screw in the wood pieces.
But, the complaints didn’t stop there. Another fan tweeted that there wasn’t enough packing material in the shipment, so all of his dishes arrived broken. To make things worse, they were now sold out of some styles and there wasn’t enough to make a set.
Even though the Gaines’ are open with their fans on their social media accounts, the couple has yet to respond to the problems associated with their Hearth & Hand products.
The luck got even worse for one fan who wrote that she has purchased multiple butter dishes from the brand, and every time they have arrived broken.
The Hearth & Hand line was so successful when the Gaines’ released it in November that people were re-selling the products on eBay. But, for the people that waited until Christmas Eve to open their shipments for gift wrapping, some were severely disappointed. One customer didn’t discover his broken workbench until 10 pm the night before his gift exchange.

Despite the issues with holiday shipping, Home World Business is reporting that Target will be expanding the line for a post-holiday push. The collection features the Gaines’ signature modern farmhouse look and includes more than 300 items, including home decor, tabletop, and holiday gifts. Next week will be the collection’s first refresh, with 140 new items available, including metal plant stands, terracotta cloche bell jars, updated faux florals, and dishware.
Per PopSugar, the new Spring line will feature a variety of products under $50 for the kitchen and office and will feature the colors blue and gold.
Chip and Joanna Gaines have not commented on the damaged items, Season 5 of Fixer Upper is currently airing on HGTV.
