Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines just welcomed their fifth baby last month, but a new report claims that the couple is having trouble in their relationship. According to Radar Online, the new baby could be “the wrecking ball that demolishes their marriage.”
Joanna gave birth to a son she and Chip named Crew on June 21st. But, a source claims that the weight of raising five children and the demands of their massive empire have put such a strain on the couple’s relationship that they might not be able to overcome it. In addition to Crew, Chip and Joanna are also the parents of Drake, 13, Ella, 11, Duke, 9, and Emmie Kay, 8.
“They have been stretched to the limit, and people close to them say this may be the final straw that breaks the back of their relationship,” says an insider.
Chip and Joanna recently ended their HGTV show after five seasons, but even the time off from TV hasn’t eased the pressure on the couple. A source claims that they are exhausted and don’t think they can hide their problems any longer. Plus, with a new baby “you can forget about intimacy.”
Their popular Magnolia brand – which includes The Silos in Waco, Texas, a bed-and-breakfast, a restaurant, books, home products, and the quarterly magazine Magnolia Journal – came under fire back in February when a former business partner claimed Chip was cutting corners and owes him more than $9,000. He also said that Chip hires unlicensed contractors, doesn’t get proper construction permits, and does shoddy work.
But, is working together and raising five kids really causing their marriage to fall apart? If Chip and Joanna are having trouble, you wouldn’t know it from their social media posts.
Chip recently shared a cute pic on Instagram of Crew laying on his arm with the caption, “My heart is full.” Just the day before, Joanna posted a video on her Instagram Story to share her secret of getting Crew to sleep – walking with him in the garden.
Chip also continued a tradition with Crew that he started with the birth of their first son Drake. Joanna posted a pic of Chip holding the new baby on his lap with his hospital bracelet visible. She explained that Chip started the tradition thirteen years ago where the baby wears the hospital bracelet until it falls off.
The couple did tell People magazine in May that Crew was changing the dynamic in their household. This was the first time her kids were old enough to remember her being pregnant, and they wanted to be a part of it. She says they are all “rallying around this baby” and he is a sweet gift to the family.
Chip and Joanna Gaines have not commented on the rumors surrounding their relationship.
