When Chip and Joanna Gaines ended their popular HGTV series Fixer Upper earlier this year, they had no idea that their lives would change in an even bigger way just a few months later. Joanna said that when they were done with the show, they didn’t plan to have baby number five, but when she and Chip found out she was pregnant, it solidified their decision to leave when they did.
But even without their TV show, Chip and Joanna still rake in big bucks because of their wide-ranging Magnolia business empire. Pop Culture reports that the couple is worth $16 million despite losing their $30,000 an episode income from Fixer Upper.
My design book, Homebody, has been a real passion of mine for years. I didn't want to rush the process because I wanted to get it just right.⠀ ⠀ We have worked so hard to create a book that is equal parts beautiful and practical: a user-friendly tool to help you create a home that truly reflects the people who live there. ⠀ ⠀ Homebody officially comes out on November 6th but you can pre-order at select retailers now! In addition to writing best-selling books, Magnolia also has made the couple money via their real estate agency and home renovation business in multiple Texas cities like Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and Waco.
But, there is so much more. Chip and Joanna opened the Magnolia Silos in Waco to sell home decor and food-truck cuisine, they release the Magnolia Journal quarterly (a magazine with 700,000 subscribers), they have a popular Target home line called Hearth and Hand, and they recently opened the Magnolia Table restaurant.
And, the couple will soon be opening Magnolia House, which is a community of luxury rental properties that will cost travelers up to $600 a night.
So, Chip and Joanna will have no trouble taking care of their growing family financially, but they may have a little trouble finding time to focus both on their massive business empire as well as their five kids.
“We had a lot on our plates, and at some point, you have to call those shots when you feel like you need a break,” Joanna said when Fixer Upper ended.
However, having a new baby and leaving her TV show hasn’t slowed Joanna down. She recently shared her latest project on Instagram – a remodel of a 3,000+ square foot home – and it is hitting the market for $529,000.
The listing on Magnolia Realty says that the home is a Tudor-Ranch style with five bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms that Joanna completely renovated with clean, classic finishes.
As for new baby Crew, the couple recently shared some sweet pics on Instagram. And, Chip revealed that his unplanned arrival came as the result of a romantic Johnny Swim concert in Waco.
Chip and Joanna Gaines are focusing on their family and their Magnolia brand since wrapping the final season of Fixer Upper.
