It appears as though Chelsea Clinton and Ivanka Trump, the daughter of the embattled president, Donald Trump, aren’t going to be friends again anytime shortly. When the daughter of the former president spoke to Stephen Cobert on The Late Show on the 5th of March, the host overtly asked her if she and Ivanka are still on friendly terms.
The 38-year-old admitted, she had not “spoken to her in a long time.” Clinton claimed it’s self-evident the daughter of Donald has endorsed policies with which Chelsea does not agree.
Colbert, 53, jokingly asked her, “could you call her up and say, ‘Hey, maybe no War with North Korea,'” because according to the host, they are friends after all.
Chelsea, who recently wrote a book titled, She Persisted Around The World, said it was “unfortunate” that we’re at a point where such a request is even brought to the table as a serious proposition.
Clinton claimed that Donald Trump is averse to taking foreign policy advice from “experts.” Whether or not a person is a liberal or a conservative, Clinton said we should all agree on the usefulness of expertise regardless of the political spectrum.
Furthermore, Colbert asked her if Ivanka was “fair game for criticism” or is she just another person in the White House without much power or influence. Clinton said anyone who works for the president is subject to criticism.
As you may know, Chelsea has been vehemently opposed to Donald since he won the electoral college back in 2016, defeating Hillary Clinton by a significant margin. However, admittedly, Trump lost by nearly three million votes.
And while it appears they are no longer pals, back in July of 2016, Chelsea sang a different tune. When speaking with Extra, Clinton claimed she and Ivanka would be friends before and after the election regardless of politics.
