It seems like The Real is not the only thing that doesn’t want to include Tamar Braxton. You can add to this list a Dallas area gay bar and restaurant. Tamar herself unveiled for her fans what exactly went down there earlier this week via her Instagram account.
Tamar claimed that she was banned from entering JR’s Bar & Grill and the reason seems to be based on her looks.
‘Here in my favorite town Dallas, they have zero tolerance for black people.’
The bar made sure also to talk about what happened there in a statement that was released to NBC 5/Dallas.
They stated that they have a strict entrance policy and this applies to anyone who wants to go there.
‘Our posted policies regarding entrance into JR’s Bar & Grill are to both ensure the safety of all our customers and to certify that our staff is in accordance with the law when serving alcohol – without exception,’ the statement read.
‘In this instance, we were simply following our published procedures. It would have been a beautiful experience and honor to add Tamar Braxton to the long list of celebrities who have enjoyed JR.s as a safe and inclusive entertainment venue. We are deeply saddened that she didn’t experience the love that awaited her inside.’
Charles Roy is someone who regularly frequents the gay bar, and he is also well aware of the dress code that states the following: ‘no sweat towels, no backpacks, pants are to be worn around the waist, no sunglasses can be worn inside, give respect, get respect’ and ‘zero tolerance policy.’
Roy discussed this situation with Fox 4, and he said that he knows they have zero tolerance and he claimed that this is because there have been drug issues in the past at the location and this is the reason for such strict rules.
He stated that he doesn’t think that the bar owners were racist at all.
There were a lot of people who commented on JR’s Facebook page regarding this issue, and most of them were fans of Tamar.
Some said that even in the gay community people are being racist. Other said that until now black people had supported the bar, but after what happened with Tamar they choose not to support it anymore.
