In a brand new interview with Madame Noir, Kandi Burruss confirmed that she would not record any other albums with the classic Xscape group. This is awful news for the more extreme fans who were secretly hoping that she is down to record new music with Tiny and co.
The reason for which Kandi refuses to work with Xscape again is pretty shocking.
A while ago Kandi announced her fans and follower that she doesn’t plan to create new music with the group members and she did this during the Great Xscape Tour.
She often disagreed with the group regarding Xscape’s musical direction, and now she said that she does not want to make another album with them because she does not want to tarnish the group’s legacy.
‘As soon as the girls and I started talking initially, I had told them that I didn’t want to make new music and the main reason was that I feel like I don’t want to mess with our legacy,’ Kandi stated for Madame Noire.
‘When we were a group, we had three platinum albums, all of our albums were hits, we never had a flop album, and things are not how they used to be back then.’
We all know that there’s a lot of baggage that all these ladies have been carrying around for a really long time, since their very early days in the industry.
They also have a lot of current problems with each other, and most of them surround Tamika Scott’s disagreements with Kandi surrounding the latter’s involvement with Jermaine Dupri and his dad. We cannot confirm whether Xscape is currently planning an album, but at least now we are sure about what Kandi thinks about the idea.
