The cast of Sons of Anarchy briefly reunited over the weekend, and even Charlie Hunnam joined the festivities.
The former Sons of Anarchy stars have gained a reputation for showing up at events throughout the year, but Hunnam rarely makes an appearance. The actor has been busy building his film career and is usually too busy for reunions.
Fortunately, Hunnam was available this past weekend for the Wales Comic Con in Wrexham, Wales.
Theo Rossi, who played Juice on the show, documented the reunion on social media. Rossi and Hunnam posed for several pictures alongside other SOA alums, including Kim Coates, Ryan Hurst, and Tommy Flanagan.
Fans reacted positively to the surprise reunion, and a few celebrities even got in on the fun as well. Mike Colter, who stars with Rossi on Luke Cage, made fun of his co-star for striking an unusual pose.
Retta, from Good Girls, also told Rossi to give “Tommy Flanagan a smooch” for her.
Although it is great to see Hunnam reunite with his old co-stars, the actor will not be returning to play Jax Teller anytime soon.
According to Pop Culture, Hunnam recently shut down the rumors that he was reprising the role for Kurt Sutter’s SOA spin-off, Mayans MC. Even though Hunnam will not be back in action, it was great to see everyone back together.
The reunion comes after Netflix surprisingly announced that Sons of Anarchy will no longer be available to stream on their service. The show will still be available on other platforms, like Hulu, for a certain amount of time before FX’s parent company, Disney, launches their own streaming service.
Disney is expected to premiere its own digital service in 2019, though an exact launch date has not been announced. Until then, fans will have to binge watch FX shows on Hulu and Amazon.
Charlie Hunnam will be all over the big screen in 2019, he just wrapped A Million Little Pieces, Jungleland, and Triple Frontier.
