Charlie Heaton from the series, Stranger Things, was caught by border police officers at an airport in Los Angeles on the 21st of October as reported by several publications. According to The Sun, the 23-year-old actor flew from London, United Kingdom, to the United States for the second premiere of Stranger Things.
However, US border officials sniffed out drugs on the performer, and he subsequently was denied entrance by the authorities. In a report from TMZ, police did not arrest him, but they did send him back to the United Kingdom.
Heaton isn’t the only Hollywood star to get hit with drug charges recently. Police stopped Corey Feldman’s tour bus when he traveled across the United States.
Several of the members of his band acquired minor drug charges by the police. Feldman took to Twitter not long after to state they did not arrest him; they merely made him pay a fine.
The announcement of his deportation to London explains why he didn’t attend the highly-anticipated premiere in Los Angeles.
On the show, he portrays Johnathan Byers, who is one of the leading protagonists. Not long ago, Heaton divulged on the details of the next season.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, he said that when viewers follow “these characters for a year,” they end up meeting Hawkins who “we all know and love.”
Additionally, the actor stated that “it’s going to be a ride.” Earlier in 2017, paparazzi spotted Heaton holding hands along with his co-star, Natalia Dyer, on several occasions which sparked dating rumors.
However, neither party has confirmed the rumors yet. As for Dyer, she managed to make an appearance at the premiere, unlike her rumored boyfriend.
