Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan surprised the entertainment world when they parted ways this week. Following a nine-year marriage, the couple released a joint statement announcing their breakup. Although they haven’t said why they are divorcing, insiders claim that Dewan had enough of Tatum’s partying ways.
According to the reports, Tatum and Dewan have a long history of fighting over his excessive partying. Tatum, who rose to stardom with the 2012 film, Magic Mike, has a reputation for going on late-night binges whenever he’s out of town.
In 2014, the actor admitted that he has a problem with drinking and sources claim that he sometimes got extra-flirty whenever Dewan wasn’t around. When he was working on the 2014 movie, Foxcatcher, an insider says that Tatum couldn’t keep his hands off a co-star and partied with locals when the film premiere at the Cannes.
Tatum also worked a lot while Dewan put her career on hold and took care of the kids at home. The actor starred on four different films when Dewan was pregnant with their daughter, Everly, in 2014. Things reaching a tipping point when eyewitnesses spotted Tatum partying it up with multiple women at a bar in Pittsburgh.
“Chan bought round after round of shots for tons of adoring girls, and then he let them do body shots off his stomach,” an insider revealed at the time. “One girl, a pretty, busty blonde who looked like she was in her early 20s, asked about Jenna. She said something like, ‘Where’s your wife?’ and Chan smiled and said, ‘She’s not here.’”
Tatum could not keep his partying ways a secret from his wife, and the two allegedly fought over his drinking all the time. Dewan would reportedly remind Tatum about his duties as a father and tried to get him to stop drinking with other women.
Unfortunately, Dewan’s efforts failed and the two couldn’t pull things together. Although Tatum’s drinking played a role in the divorce, sources also say that Dewan was jealous of his fame.
An insider revealed that Dewan wasn’t happy about giving up her acting career. To make things worse, she had to watch as Tatum’s popularity grew in Hollywood while she raised their daughter outside of the spotlight. Because of all these issues, the source claims that Dewan slowly began to push Tatum away until things reached a breaking point.
Tatum and Dewan confirmed their split in a joint statement released this week. The couple assured fans that the split was amicable, though they did not say why they couldn’t make things work out. Friends of the pair, however, claim that they saw the divorce coming and were not surprised when the news broke.
Tatum was apparently growing bored of the relationship and felt as though he and Dewan were becoming nothing more than good friends in recent months.
Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan have not commented on the rumors surrounding their divorce.
