Chance The Rapper and his girlfriend, Kirsten Corley, got engaged on the 4th of July after he proposed to her while enjoying a barbecue on one of their mutual friend’s backyard. In a video posted by The Shade Room, Chance The Rapper gets down on one knee and proposes to Kirsten, whom with he shares a 2-year-old daughter, Kensli.
Everyone at the barbecue, including family and friends, begins screaming and yelling in excitement as Chance The Rapper gets down on one knee and asks her to be his wife.
The rapper asks their young daughter to come on over and give her dad a hug, while his new fiancée plays with the ring on her hand. And in another photo, Corley flashes her giant diamond engagement ring.
The 25-year-old rapper, Chance, alluded to his wife while accepting the Grammy Award for Best New Artist back in February 2017. However, they’ve had a difficult relationship ever since they started dating five years ago, in 2013.
Two years ago in February 2016, around half-a-year, after Kensli was born, Kirsten went to the court and filed legal documents declaring Chance as the legal father of the baby.
According to The Chicago Tribune, she asked the rapper to pay child support and also requested to be the “sole caretaker” of the child. And just a month later, the court changed the petition to say she and Chance were now cohabiting and he asked to join Kirsten in the caretaking responsibilities.
However, in June, Corley filed paperwork again asking for them to create a parenting schedule, because they weren’t living together anymore.
And in January 2017, it was revealed that she and Chance got back together again and she moved in with him. However, a month later, she asked for the child support case to be reopened.
In March 2017, the pair settled out of court and stated they had agreed upon a joint parenting schedule. The Chicago Sun-Times was the first to report the news.
