Céline Dion is getting a much-needed break from her activities in order to tend to her health. We have learned that the singer decided to cancel all of her performances at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Vegas between March 27 and April 18.
The reason? She is set to undergo ear surgery!
Celine’s team took to Facebook today to officially announce the star will no longer be performing between those dates and to explain her condition.
‘Céline’s been dealing with a condition in her middle ear known as Patulous Eustachian tube, which causes hearing irregularities, and makes it really difficult to sing. She’s been experiencing this condition for the past 12-18 months, but it’s been successfully treated with various ear drop medications. During the past couple of weeks, however, these medications have no longer been working to treat the condition, so she’ll undergo a minimally invasive surgical procedure to correct the problem,’ the message read.
In addition, Celine also released her own statement, in which she apologized to her fans for the inconvenience canceling the concerts created.
‘My luck has not been very good lately… I have been so looking forward to doing my shows again, and this happens…. I just cannot believe it! I apologize to everybody who planned to travel to Las Vegas and see my show. I know how disappointing this is, and I am so sorry,’ she wrote.
The star will be resuming her performances on May 22.
Back in January, she was also forced to cancel a few shows because of some health problems, but in a post, she explained how Adele was able to cheer her up a bit.
‘I had a really rough time during the last couple of weeks…a lot of people have been hit with colds and the flu… but I am doing much better now. Was not able to do all my shows, but was thrilled that Adele came to one of them… I love her so much!’ Dion shared.
