Céline Dion canceled two shows in Las Vegas making it a total of five concerts rescheduled because of an illness. On her Facebook page, Dion revealed that her shows on Tuesday and Wednesday had to be rescheduled because of a cold affecting her vocal cords.
Celine intends to make it back on to the stage on Friday. Last week, Celine wrote a similar statement where the singer stated she was “truly sorry” for canceling one of her shows on Saturday night.
And while many of her fans were sympathetic regarding the reasoning for the cancellation, some people were not pleased and considered it an insult.
If Celine is sick and can’t perform, she can’t play can she? One fan wrote, “It’s an insult that fans who drove so far to see her aren’t going to be able to now. What a joke. It took a long time to get there.”
** TONIGHT’S & TOMORROW NIGHT’S SHOWS CANCELLED**We regret to inform you that tonight’s and tomorrow night’s…
One person took to Twitter to defend Celine: “She’s human just like everyone else, and people get sick sometimes. Give her a break; she’s not an infallible goddess.”
However, not everyone is buying that excuse. Some fans are unimpressed by the reasoning because all of the cancellations were at the very last minute rather than a day before like they should’ve been.
Fortunately, Dion’s fans will be reimbursed, but the organization responsible for booking the talent stressed they are not responsible for hotel, travel, and other expenses.
Back on Saturday, Celine said it was one of the hardest decisions to have to make and hopes her fans aren’t too mad. Despite Dion’s god-like domination of the charts over the years, some fans aren’t willing to let her off that easy.
