Dr. Bumbum, or his real name, Dr. Denis Furtado, was charged with murder after he went on the run following the death of one of his patients. The doctor went MIA when Lilian Calixto, 46, died in the hospital after he conducted a buttock enlargement procedure on her.
According to reports, the 45-year-old surgeon performed the surgery in his own place, with the help of his maid, girlfriend, and mother. Ms. Calixto, who has two children, died in the hospital after she got sick at the man’s home.
Furtado fled the scene but the police captured him in a Brazilian city around four days later. He faces charges of murder, while his mother, Maria De Fatima Barros Furtado, faces similar charges.
Renata Fernandes, his girlfriend, was taken into custody by the authorities on suspicion of being involved with the procedure. Furtado, who has nearly 1 million followers on Instagram, is frequently on Brazilian TV screens and promises his clients beauty.
Vale a pena ver de novo, não só pela enrolação, bobagens ditas, mas pela gagueira sem fim… Me perdoem os gagos, mas Gago Bandido é … pior ainda! #crimes #clientesprocuramsarna #enquantohouver #bioplastias #crmcassado #familiapsicopata #rosilanepereiradasilva #renatafernandescirne #mariadefatimafurtado #deniscesarfurtado #quadrilhamedica #doutorbumbum
As for what led to the woman’s death, the doctor used 300ml of PMMA, an acrylic glass filler, when one is only supposed to use very small doses and in a “very restricted way.”
The Brazilian Plastic Surgery Society has frequently cautioned doctors when using the synthetic resin for aesthetic reasons. According to the documents, Dr. Furtado arranged his apartment in a dangerous manner and didn’t abide by the provisions normally laid out by surgeons.
Additionally, Furtado wasn’t allowed to practice in Rio, due to not being in possession of his license to practice. In a video which he posted on his Instagram, the doctor explained that her death was a “fatal accident,” and he had performed around 9,000 successful procedures.
Unfortunately, it looks like he wasn’t careful enough, and someone had to pay with their lives. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ms. Calixto and her family.
