Teen Mom OG star Maci Bookout told fans back in March that she would soon be appearing on Naked and Afraid, and this week she took to Instagram to share the first pic of her upcoming episode. In the brutal reality show, they drop off two strangers in the center of a wilderness without clothing, and then they spend three weeks (if they can last that long) trying to survive.
“Eeek! Everyone has been asking about my episode of Naked and Afraid,” Bookout captioned the photo.
According to The Hollywood Gossip, there are many forces in the foreign environment that could kill them, but it is usually starvation or exposure that will send a contestant home early. But, there is always a possibility of a venomous snake bite, or you could cross the path of irate fire ants.
Naked and Afraid is the kind of show that makes many people wonder why anyone would intentionally put themselves through that, especially since they don’t win cash if they can get through the entire 21 days. But then there are people like Bookout, who apparently think it’s fun to put her life on the line without wearing any clothes.
Despite surviving a relationship with Ryan Edwards and the company of Farrah Abraham, Bookout still wanted to test herself. But, we don’t know where Bookout went or how long she lasted.
Her companion for the episode was 31-year-old Justin Tuell, who has a wilderness survival background.
As for Bookout, when she isn’t naked and trying to survive in the wilderness, she is battling Edwards in court because he has been threatening her and her family. And last week, a judge granted Bookout a two-year restraining order. However, the court will still allow Edwards to see his son (who he shares with Bookout), Bentley.
Back in March, Bookout and her husband, Taylor McKinney, filed two orders of protection against Edwards – McKinney versus Edwards, and Bookout and her three children versus Edwards. In addition to Bentley, Bookout has two kids, Maverick and Jayde, with McKinney.
In her court filings, Bookout claimed that her ex left threatening voicemails and said he would hurt her if she didn’t answer her phone. She also said Edwards showed up to Bentley’s baseball game under the influence of heroin.
Bookout went on to explain that she fears for her son’s safety, and Edwards’ behavior and actions are getting worse. Edward’s lawyer, Jonathan Turner, said that they agreed to the restraining order which prohibits him from going within 100 feet of Bookout, McKinney, and their two kids.
Turner said that the important thing in this order is that Edwards still gets to see his son, and he agreed that it would make it easier on everyone, so they wouldn’t have to go through a trial. And, Edwards hopes that they can get through this without any issues.
