Carrie Underwood has babies on the brain. Amid pregnancy rumors, Underwood has revealed in a new interview that she and her husband, Mike Fisher, want a huge family, but she says the opportunity may have passed them by.
“I’m 35, so we may have missed our chance to have a big family,” Underwood said. “We always talk about adoption and about doing it when our child or children are a little older. In the meantime, we’re lucky to be a part of organizations that help kids, because our focus right now in our lives is helping as many kids as possible.”
The country music superstar did not confirm a second pregnancy during her interview with Redbook for their September issue, but she did talk about the media coverage of the facial injury she suffered last fall.
She insists she did not get plastic surgery, even though she is on the cover of “some magazine every other week for something crazy.” Underwood continued by saying that the truth is just as interesting, but she wishes she would have gotten some awesome surgery to make her scar look better.
The Before He Cheats singer says she tries not to worry too much about the media coverage, even though her mom will sometime try to draw her attention to it, asking her if she knows what they are saying about her. Underwood says she responds by saying that she doesn’t care, and she is just trying to live her life and raise her son.
One of the recent rumors swirling about Underwood is that she is expecting twins after she and her husband had been trying for months to get pregnant. But, there doesn’t appear to be any truth to the story.
Underwood has triumphantly returned to the stage this year after her scary accident, receiving standing ovations at both the Academy of Country Music Awards in April and at the CMT Music Awards in June. But even though it looks like this year has been a good one for the singer, she notes that last year was a busy one and it wasn’t the greatest, even though it was her “year off.”

She explains that she did a lot of writing, participated in multiple shoots, and always had something to do. But, it also ended up being a “very soul-searching year” for her. Underwood says that some personal things happened, plus she had the accident to get through. When it comes down to it, life happened, and it is always full of ups and downs. But last year she says that she had more downs than ups.
In November, she tripped and fell at her home in Nashville, and the fall resulted in Underwood chipping a tooth, breaking her wrist, and injuring her face so badly that she needed more than 40 stitches. She ended up staying out of sight for five months, and she confessed to fans that she didn’t look the same.
But now Carrie Underwood has come out of hiding and is moving on. She is ready for her music to do the talking, and insiders say that she is better and stronger than ever before.
