Actress Carrie Fisher says she now feels guilty after revealing she had an affair with her Star Wars co-star Harrison Ford.
The alleged affair happened over 40 years ago over three months while filming “Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope” in 1976
“It became a little embarrassing for me,” she said on BBC’s “The Graham Norton Show,” after acknowledging how many news outlets picked up the story featured in her new memoir, “The Princess Diarist.”
When Talk show host Norton suggested that Ford will now have to talk about the alleged affair publicly for the rest of his career, Fisher said, “and now I feel more guilty.”
Fisher later told Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show, “I told other stuff to distract people so they wouldn’t figure it out. No one thought it was happening at the time – I don’t even know if he did. No, he did.”
Luke Skywalker himself Mark Hamill, says he had no idea the two actors were incloved in an affair.
The 65-year-old actor spoke with ET last week, where he admitted he “was blissfully unaware” his on-screen sister was having a torrid affair with Ford.
“I was so self-involved at that point, they could’ve been doing it in front of me and I wouldn’t have noticed,” Hamill joked. “I was single and had my own agenda.”
As NBC reports. Ford was married to his first wife at the time, Mary Marquardt. The couple split in 1979.
At the time Fisher was just 19-years-old, while ford was 33.
Ford has been married to fellow actress Calista Flockhart since 2010.
A rep for Ford did not return Celebrity Insiders request for comment about Fisher’s claims. Still, the actor told People he knew about the upcoming book.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opens Friday, Dec. 16 in theaters nationwide.
