Cardi B finds herself involved with internet drama almost every other day. This time is different because it seems like the online retaliation may follow her into her real life after the “Bodak Yellow” disrespected a notorious California gang!
In a now-edited Instagram post, Cardi B was sporting a fluffy blue coat. The 25-year-old added a caption that formerly read: “I hate wearing Flue but this coat too poppin.”
The word “flue” is a disrespectful way to say blue, a color that represents the Crips. Cardi has stated in the past that she is a member of the rival gang the Bloods.
Not long after the post hit her profile, threats from Crip members and those who affiliate themselves with the Crips came pouring in.
One angry follower wrote: “This s*** is not a joke! You will really get touched out here. Don’t ever speak on the crips as long as you live little girl!”
Another threatened: “Cardi you better not ever step foot in LA. You will be killed, That’s on everything I love.”
Quickly after the insults were left, comments were disabled and Cardi removed the caption. However, some of the offended people left their thoughts on another post of hers.
Since the former reality star’s music blew up, she has claimed to be a part of the blood gang. In her smash single, she raps “bloody shoes” as a double entendre for the color of the famous Louboutin heels and as a reference to the Bloods.
Some feel that Cardi just says it as a way to get street cred when in reality she isn’t really a part of any gang.
Joseline Hernandez discusses this in her diss track to Cardi. The song, titled “Hate Me Now,” says: “Lyin’ on blood b*****/Blood b**** please/The only thing bloody ’bout this h**/Is that herpy sick bloody flexin’ bummy mouth.”
What do you think about this situation?
