Cardi B was staying at an Albany hotel when police were called early in the morning on October 22nd, for a noise complaint. The manager of the hotel says that the music in the 2nd-floor room she was staying in was far too loud and there was a strong pungent odor of weed in the air.
What’s notable about this incident is that Cardi was actually sleeping while all of this was taking place but when the other members of the room decided to leave, she was woken up to join them.
Cardi B posted a video on Instagram detailing the situation and accusing the city of Albany of being racist. This is something that she explains she’s experienced firsthand. The video was later deleted.
Cardi B performed at the Times Union Center that Saturday night and after her performance, Cardi and her entourage went back to their room.
Even though Cardi was sleeping when the bulk of the activity took place, when security asked her to leave, she became angry and reportedly even called one of the staff members a “racist motherf*****”.
There is racism in all different corners and pockets of the country so it’s unsurprising that Cardi would make such a claim. Especially as someone who is familiar with Albany because she was born and raised in New York. Certain cities, even in progressive states are still very much prejudiced and bigoted.
What she and her entourage experienced in Albany is likely not an isolated incident and unfortunately, stereotypes can follow even the rich and famous, regardless of money and status.
Earlier in the evening, even more drama ensued when she reportedly broke up with boyfriend Offset and announced it almost immediately after a disagreement. Not even a few hours after the announcement, she got on social media to set the record straight.
Apparently, she was just being a bit of a hothead and the couple is just fine. No, break up here.
The two have talked about getting married and starting the family so this was likely just a little bump in the road.
