The Bodak Yellow rapper found herself in hot water over a vid in which she advised her fans to look for a sugar daddy in the new year! We all know Cardi B has a really unique sense of humor and no filter, but we also understand how her statement pretty much sent feminism back five decades or so!
On December 31, during her concert in New York, Cardi told her fellow women in the audience that if they are not in school and don’t have a job, they should just get a sugar daddy!
The footage shocked a lot of her fans, leaving them confused and angered.
Many took to social media to express their distaste for the words Cardi let out during her show.
‘Wow was not expecting that 🤔 this is the advice to young women?’ one fan commented.
The inappropriate advice is the more wrong as Cardi recently claimed she is planning on becoming a better role model for her young and impressionable fans.
In a vid she posted back in November, Cardi said: ‘I realized, after this Halloween, a lot of little girls, they’d be looking up to me. They really love me, and I am thinking to myself, like, Yo, I really need to be a better example.’
But even though her heart may be in the right place, changing her ways may be really difficult for the rapper since she is known for saying all kinds of outlandish things both in interviews and on social media.
That is also why some fans were not bothered by her sugar daddy advice.
‘Who said that was unexpected?’ one commented.
Another took her side, writing: ‘She did not say this at an elementary school she said it at a club full of adults and it was joke.’
