Supermodel Cara Delevingne is the latest celeb to come out about an unpleasant experience with Harvey Weinstein! The 25-year-old took to social media today to state that she was also a victim of sexual assault, not once but twice!
Cara revealed that she first heard about the man in her first years as an actress.
Apparently, Weinstein once called her to ask whether or not she had slept with any of the females she was spotted by the paparazzi with.
Delevingne called the discussion ‘odd and uncomfortable.’
Although she refused to reply to any of his inquiries, before she could end the call, he told the model and actress that if she were gay she’d never get ‘the role of a straight woman or make it in Hollywood.’
About a year or two later, she met the producer and director of a potential project in a hotel’s lobby.
‘The director left the meeting and Harvey asked me to stay and chat with him. As soon as we were alone, he began to brag about all the actresses he had slept with and how he’d made their careers and talked about other inappropriate things of a sexual nature. He invited me to his room. I quickly declined and asked his assistant if my car was outside. She said it wasn’t and would not be for a bit so I should go to his room,’ Cara recalled, adding that she felt scared and powerless in that situation.
However, she hoped she had misunderstood and did not show her awkwardness about the whole thing.
That being said, she accepted the producer’s invitation to go to his room.
The moment she entered she saw another female there, so Cara thought she was safe.
But Harvey proceeded to ask the two women to kiss in front of him.
Delevingne quickly changed the subject by asking him if he knew she could sing.
‘And I began to sing….I thought it would make the situation better….more professional….like an audition….I was so nervous.’
After she finished her ‘audition,’ Cara told Weinstein she had to leave.
Although he did not try to stop her, he walked Delevingne to the door and tried to kiss her without any success.
Of her role in Tulip Fever, Cara stated that she always thought she received the part because of what happened, so she felt horrible about doing it.
As of speaking out, the model said she was hesitant and that she didn’t want to hurt his family.
‘I felt guilty as if I did something wrong.’
