Busy Philipps Gets Candid About Her Battle With Anxiety

The actress is part of The Child Mind Institute’s #MyYoungerSelf campaign, and she really wants to spread awareness about anxiety, something that she also struggles with! That being said, Busy Philipps has shared a clip in which she talks about her own experience with the disorder she has unfortunately been in her life ever since she was just a child.
In the vid that was posted on the organization’s Facebook page, she says: ‘I used to lie awake in bed at night, and I’d have spinning thoughts. It’d be really hard for me to get to sleep and I’d be so scared that I would not even go to my parents’ room. I did not want to tell them what was happening because I thought there was something wrong with me. Turns out, there is nothing wrong with me.’
She went on to explain that ‘Once I was able to start talking about it, it relieved a lot of the anxiety. I was able to get help – therapy, and sometimes medication. There is nothing wrong with that either.’
‘I would have liked to tell my younger self to not be embarrassed or ashamed and to open up and talk about what is happening … It feels kind of incredible to know that you are not alone. So, you are not alone,’ Busy reminded other people dealing with anxiety.
Over the past few weeks, a lot of other stars have joined the #MyYoungerSelf campaign.
Some well-known names working on spreading awareness about the disorder and more are Jim Gaffigan, Zoe Saldana, Olivia Culpo and Ginger Zee.
