During the interview with Al Roker, Burt Reynolds spoke about the early days of finding fame and his relationship with Dinah Shore. He stated he never trusted another woman as much as he did her.
When asked if he had a favorite movie that he worked on, Reynolds said that it was hard to pick one then explained he has favorite movies for different reasons.
He did say that Deliverance was one of his favorite movies that he worked on specifically because of his friendship with actor Jon Voight. He said two became very close due to their work on the film.
What may have been the most shocking aspect of the interview had nothing to do with Burt Reynolds’ health or appearance, but the revelation that he turned down the opportunity to play James Bond.
When pressed for a reason, Burt Reynolds stated he didn’t believe an American could truly portray the character.
