In a report from a newspaper in San Fransisco, the 13 Reasons Why actor, Bryan Box, was arrested by authorities after he allegedly stole from seniors in the Californian city. In the acclaimed Netflix series, Box played the character Jamie Garrison in the first season.
The police charged him with nine charges of burglary, possession of stolen property, as well as theft by a caretaker of a senior.
Sources close to his mother said: “Bryan’s mom is super upset by this news. She thought he had something good going when he got a role on this TV show. But it looks like he messed it up.”
Reportedly, the 23-year-old actor worked as a caretaker at several residences in Marin County before he landed his small part in the series produced by the megastar, Selena Gomez.
The Marin Independent Journal claims that the actor stole from the senior citizens from the period of the 22nd of September until the 7th of November.
Box would allegedly visit his former employers to talk about his new career and make kind gestures and comments before stealing various items from them.
Furthermore, police connected him to six different burglaries and are accused of trying to sell medication, jewelry, a laptop, checks and even a social security card.
Some of the goods were valued to be around $50,000. The police came to his family’s home in Vallejo, California where they arrested him.
His bail is currently sitting at $250,000 and the court arraignment is set for the 16th of January according to the newspaper based in Marin County. 13 Reasons Why is coming back for its second season this year, but at the moment, no one knows for sure if the actor will make it back on to the series.
