According to reports, Bruno Mars recruited accompanying Grammy Award-winner Ed Sheeran to take over singing duties at his 33rd birthday. On Monday, Mars shared a video on his Instagram of theBritish guitar player singing him happy birthday.
In the clip, Sheeran sings the classic song to Bruno as the latter helps himself to a selection of cupcakes. In the ending of the video, Bruno demands that Sheeran repeats the song.
Bruno wrote in the caption that he knows he’s made it considering he was able to hire Ed Sheeran to sing for him. People Magazine claims that they filmed the clip backstage while at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
Back in August, Ed spoke on his relationship with Mars and insinuated that they would be collaborating sometime in the future. According to the British songster, he and Bruno know each other very well and often hang out.
As you may know, Mars released 24K Magic back in November 2016, and his next performance is scheduled for Tulsa, Oklahoma. Currently, Sheeran is promoting his album, ÷, getting ready to hit the road to Kansas City, Mo, for the 13th of October.
Ed and Bruno have known each other for quite a long time. Reportedly, Ed Sheeran’s reputation in the music business is quite positive, with many stars hailing him as a great person to work with.
Taylor Swift referred to Ed as one of the greatest songwriters out right now, and she claimed that she knew his song, “Shape Of You,” would be a massive hit internationally.
Bruno was slated to perform alongside Cardi B on his latest tour, but Cardi had to drop out at the last second due to her child, Kulture Kiari, whom she had with Offset from Migos. It appears as though fans should expect to see Bruno and Ed sometime together again in the future.
