Disgraced star Bill Cosby is reportedly struggling with huge debts and in order to pay back everything he owes he is shooting a reality TV show. The man was spotted by the paparazzi in Philadelphia at Ristorante La Veranda and he had an entire crew and staff with him.
One eyewitness also told us what went down, saying that ‘The restaurant was closed, but some folks were hired to pretend they were customers and tell Cosby how much they love him on camera.’
Not much of a ‘reality’ show then, huh?
We have learned that the 80 year old, who is involved in a huge sexual assault case, has managed to blow through most of his substantial $500 million fortune.
That being said, he really hopes this brand new show will be able to get him enough money to at least honor his legal bills!
‘Right now, Bill has no other source of income. A documentary, perhaps for reality television, might sell, and that is what his team is trying to do,’ an insider dished.
Cosby supposedly owes a lot of money to the lawyer who recently dropped his case, Brian McMonagle.
The pricey attorney cost the 80 year old disgraced star no less than $1,500 per hour!
McMonagle won a mistrial in the case involving Andrea Constand but Cosby still faces multiple other lawsuits by a number of supposed victims of his.
‘Bill’s situation’s frightening. He is shelling out a small fortune to save himself from jail, but he cannot afford to pay much longer,’ our insider explained.
As for the Constand retrial, which is set to take place sometime in April, we have learned that Tom Mesereau, who used to be Michael Jackson’s lawyer, will be the one representing Cosby.
Considering he is such a high-powered attorney, we are sure Mesereau is not cheap!
But, some sources claim he may be dealing with the case pro-bono, just for some publicity.
‘Look, if you had all the bills that Bill has, you would look for someone to cut you a break, too,’ the insider argued.
In addition, his show was apparently ‘designed to help people, including jurors, see Cosby as just another guy from Philly.’
