We found out last month during the MTV Music Awards that the network’s classic semi-reality show The Hills would be returning next year with a reboot titled The Hills: New Beginnings. And now, star Brody Jenner has confirmed that after a lot of negotiating, he will appear on the new series.
In a recent Instagram post, Brody shared a pic of a billboard advertising the new show — featuring his face — and added the caption, “Don’t call it a comeback.” Jenner’s new wife, Kaitlynn Carter, will also appear on the series.
“The Hills: New Beginnings” is slated for release in 2019, exclusively on MTV.

Jenner was one of the last holdouts from the original cast to sign on for the reboot. Some of the show’s original stars walked the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards to announce the news, but Jenner didn’t join them. An insider says that Jenner now has a “very private life” and was reluctant to appear on the spin-off. Apparently, he wasn’t sure how much of his current life he wanted to share with viewers.
“He hasn’t really been out there. He wanted to make a deal that works for him after deciding what he wanted to have on TV,” said the source. “He wasn’t sure if he wanted to be in the public eye on the heels of his dad’s transition. Caitlyn wasn’t there for him growing up, and he wasn’t sure if he wanted to talk about it again. Family is important to him. He’s very much a mama’s boy.”

According to Ashley’s Reality Roundup, joining Brody in the cast of New Beginnings will be Heidi and Spencer Pratt, Stephanie Pratt, Audrina Patridge, Jason Wahler, Justin Bobby Delgado, and Whitney Port. There will also be some new faces, including Kyle Massey from That’s So Raven and Corey In The House.
Unfortunately, the main star of the original show, Lauren Conrad, will not be appearing on New Beginnings. Since giving birth to her son Liam 13 months ago, Conrad has made her life extremely private. Conrad’s nemesis Kristin Cavallari will also not be appearing on the new series because of her contract with E!. She is currently starring in her own reality show Very Cavallari with her husband, Jay Cutler.

As for Conrad’s BFF Lo Bosworth, she has made it crystal clear that she doesn’t want to be a part of anything related to The Hills. Earlier this year, Bosworth said on her podcast that she doesn’t “want any association” with her former co-stars.
Those that will be appearing on the MTV reboot will most likely bring along their spouses and children since the show will be following both their professional and personal lives. Port revealed that they would start filming at the end of this month, and she is excited for fans to see what is now going on in everyone’s lives. She added that it is a fun adventure to be back on TV in her mid-30s.
