Every single star has an origin story and for household names Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake, Keri Russell and Ryan Gosling, that origin story begins in the same place… on the Mickey Mouse Club. Back in the 90s, some fresh-faced kids auditioned for a Disney show that would help catapult their very young careers.
Spears was recently asked about all of her fellow castmates and if she would be interested in a Mickey Mouse Club reunion.
The 36-year-old pop starlet emphatically agreed that it would be a great idea and that working on that show when she was younger was “a great time.”
The show, which had a stellar run in the 90s, was the start of so many long, impressive and fruitful careers.
The Mickey Mouse Club was where Spears and Timberlake met for the first time.
They dated while on the show, but as young kids of 10 and 11 years old, that was shortlived.
The two had a much more adult and public relationship when they were young adults in the 2000s.
Spears reveals that being on that show was one of the most special times of her life.
Before all the fame and scrutiny hit, she was able to just be a kid, amongst all of her friends.
She was able to sing, dance and act, which is what she loves most of all, and she had a ball doing it in that setting.
It’s unclear if the rest of the cast would be as receptive to a reunion.
Christina Aguilera has spoken fondly of her days on the show, while Ryan Gosling has described his time on the show as “depressing.”
Gosling says he dealt with a lot of insecurities and self-comparisons as he felt he was lacking in certain areas that the other kids were thriving in.
Yet, he still managed to become an Oscar-nominated actor. Not bad at all!
