The divorce between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt has gotten nastier by the day, but according to an insider, part of the problem is that Jolie is still in love with her estranged husband. Apparently, the emotion and history in their more than decade-long relationship is causing some issues for the Oscar-winning actress.
“When he said that he wanted to file, there was a realization that he wanted to end it, finally, and she could not take that — which led to her accusing him of not paying to support the children and all the rest of it,” claims a source.
The insider added that on some level, Jolie doesn’t want to give up on Pitt. There are still some very strong feelings there.
As I’ve always said, Angelina Jolie is a master manipulator when it comes to PR but now these games are proving to be her undoing. All Brad Pitt has ever wanted was kids – just settle the divorce, joint custody, and move on. https://t.co/RFfBacvbR4

After the judge in the case told Jolie earlier this summer that she had to allow Pitt to spend more time with their six kids — Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, Vivienne, 10, and Knox, 10 — her lawyer filed a motion in court requesting retroactive child support because she claimed he wasn’t keeping up his part of their informal agreement.
She also asked for a quick end to their marriage (two years after filing) and has requested a divorce decree before the end of the year.
But Pitt’s lawyers replied with their own court filing, claiming that he had paid over $1.3 million for bills to help the minor children, and he had also loaned Jolie $8 million to purchase a home.
Under California law, each parent is responsible for paying their part of an agreement reached between the couple. But Jolie wants the judge to issue a formal child support order in her favor. She says that Pitt has not paid for the children’s expenses on a regular basis for over a year and a half.

Jolie’s attorneys are requesting to appear before the judge, so he can schedule a status conference to address the financial and custody issues in their case.
After the judge told Angelina Jolie back in June that Brad Pitt needed more time with the kids, he set up a specific custody schedule for the summer. He required her to return back to Los Angeles from London — where she was filming Maleficent 2 — so they could have some time with their father.
