Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are still married one year after she filed for divorce, and there seems to be no end in sight.
The delay sparked many conversations online, and some of their fans have started believing that a reconciliation was possible.
A few people close to the critically-acclaimed actress even spoke to the media in a way that suggested she is open to given their love a second chance.
Mr. Pitt has made a lot of progress in recent months, and he has decided to deal with his addiction issues head on.
All of this had a positive impact on the mother of six, who started warming up to the idea of getting back with the famed producer.
While Pitt is taking full responsibility for some of the things that went wrong in the marriage, he is not interested in getting back with his estranged wife.
An insider stated: “Brad is over it and he believes Angelina crossed the line when she accused him of being abusive towards the kids — as far as Brad’s concerned there’s no way of going back from that.”
Jolie’s team keeps pushing for more concessions and Pitt has no interest in those things.
A source, who is backing Jolie in the messy breakup, revealed: “Brad has done a lot of soul-searching over the past few months, he has quit drinking, and he has cleaned up his act. If Brad came crawling back to her and begged for another chance, she would willingly drop the divorce.”
Pitt has been a major force in the entertainment industry; he seems to understand when someone is trying to take advantage of him.
A third insider has explained to In Touch Weekly magazine: “There has been little progress in getting close to a settlement. Brad has had enough. He is ready to take back control of his life officially.”
Pitt is determined to move on and has reportedly asked his lawyer to speed up the process no matter what.
Another source added: “Restoring his status to a single person is not about Brad going out on the town and dating, but about his beginning a new chapter.”
At some point, Jolie will have to decide what she wants to do with the marriage.
