It has been three years since Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton divorced, and two years since she wrote her divorce album The Weight of These Wings. But Lambert is still talking about the pain of the public split, and in a new interview with the website HITS Daily Double, she said that Shelton broke her heart.
Lambert claims that Shelton blindsided her when he ended their marriage in the summer of 2015 and going through a public divorce made her feel alone. However, she was able to capture the seven stages of grief on her award-winning double album, but it took her 24 songs to do it.
According to an insider at In Touch Weekly, Shelton devastated Lambert when he left her and started dating Gwen Stefani just a few months later.

“She wears her heartbreak like a badge. The cold-blooded way Blake broke her heart, cut her out of his life and shoved his romance with Gwen in her face is something that will scar her forever,” says the source. “Blake really put her through hell, and she’s letting people know it.”
When their marriage ended, Shelton pretty much kicked her out of his Tishomingo, Oklahoma, ranch and sent her packing. The insider says Lambert “didn’t know what hit her,” and it became even more of a nightmare when the rumors started to spread that she had cheated on Shelton with a number of men.
The reality of the situation is that their skyrocketing careers often kept them apart from each other, and the source says that the former couple became strangers. They added that Lambert lost trust in Shelton, and then he became suspicious of her. However, even though the Tin Man singer knew the marriage was in trouble, she always had the belief that they could save it.

Shelton definitely has a different perspective on the split. He was also heartbroken – and admits he hit rock bottom after experiencing such devastation. However, according to a friend of The Voice coach, he feels that Lambert is villainizing him and he is done with his ex-wife talking and writing about the divorce.
But Miranda Lambert continues to sing about the split. She will be featuring her breakup songs prominently on her upcoming tour with Little Big Town. But even though will be singing about the divorce, an insider says that the 34-year-old has happily moved on with Evan Felker.
As for Blake Shelton, he has moved on in a big way with Stefani, and he said in a recent interview that after three years together, their relationship continues to grow stronger every day.
