Reportedly, the country crooner might be leaving the show after this year. The Voice’s 14th season is set to start in just a few weeks, and we have learned that there is some drama going on between judge Blake Shelton and the singing competition’s executives.
Now, a source on set told us that the bad blood started with Gwen Stefani – Blake’s beloved significant other.
As you probably know by now, the two actually met on the show in season 9.
Because both of them were dealing with some nasty divorces, they kept the relationship under wraps for a while.
On season 12 however, when Stefani returned as a judge, she also came back with some news for everyone!
The singer made it official that she and Blake were a couple.
Since then, the producers promised them massive bonuses if they showed a lot of PDA on camera for the sake of ratings.
However, they apparently didn’t show much of that at all, and the ‘producers felt shafted because they were told to bring the love, and instead they were quite unaffectionate. They did one duet together the entire season, and seemed to be more jealous than in love with each other.’
Things got worse at the end of season 12 when the network decided to replace Stefani with Miley Cyrus.
‘Blake threw a fit when he found out Gwen wasn’t going to return and that she was replaced by Miley,’ our source explained, adding that the singer ‘has been super resentful ever since.’
Besides, rumor has it that he is not too fond of Jennifer Hudson, who also returned, either and now he is seriously thinking about leaving the singing competition for good!
