In the fall of 2015, Gwen Stefani and country music star Blake Shelton started a romance after going through sudden heartbreaks that played out in the public eye.
The diva split from Gavin Rossdale after 13 years of marriage and three adorable boys. As for Blake, he divorced Miranda Lambert — they were together for four years.
The Voice coaches have been inseparable amid rumors that an engagement is imminent. In a recent interview, Blake surprised many by saying they were not sure it would last.
He said: “When I was going through my divorce and just hit rock bottom – just like anybody does when they go through something that devastating – it’s a miracle that I met somebody that was going through the same thing that I was at the same moment in time.”
The country crooner added: “And I think if Gwen and I were honest right now, talking about this, I think in the back of our minds we both kind of thought this is a rebound deal, because we were both coming out of a pretty low spot in our lives and we’re clinging to each other to get through this. But now here we are, going on three years later and every day that goes by feels like a stronger bond between the two of us and it constantly feels like it’s going to the next level.”
One person reacted to his statement by writing: “With all due respect ladies, I wouldn’t worry about Gwen at all! This public relationship with Blake begins and ends with business. It was a deal, and it’s over. They are just friends. Gwen has what she thinks is a secret relationship with a former footballer. I’ve seen them in Vegas on a few occasions already, and they spend a lot of time together in LA and this time includes their kids. Gwen has been messing with Terrell since January 2017. Blake isn’t the center of her universe; he was merely the focal point of becoming and remaining a hot news trend and constant click bait. A lot of money has been made and landed her the Las Vegas residency in 2017. Don’t worry about Gwen because she’s exactly where she wants to be. #peace.”
A supporter defended the lovebirds: “I love you two! You inspire everyone to find insatiable love. How silly. To think you know everything about someone behind closed doors based on social media posts. I posted NO opinions. Can’t even believe you would dare to post an opinion on someone private life based on internet photos. Seems very trollish. Also, your “opinion” is incredibly bitter, cynical and will lead only to a terribly unhappy life. So there’s my opinion of you based on what I see on social media. So silly and rude. Good lord.”
It all worked out for the best.
