The season 14 premiere of The Voice is just days away, and new coach Kelly Clarkson will be joining veterans Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton. The two chairs in the middle of the panel have been rotating judges in and out for the past ten seasons, but the bromance between Shelton and Levine in the outer chairs has endured since the show’s beginning. And, according to a recent Gold Derby poll, the reason is because the show would fall apart without them.
The site recently asked its readers if it was time for Shelton and Levine to take a break from the popular reality singing competition, and 77 percent of voters responded, “No! Adam and Blake are the only reason I watch.”
One user commented that she couldn’t imagine the show without them and it would be a disaster if they left.

Just 13 percent said that it is time for them both to take a hiatus, with 6 percent saying Shelton should move on and 4 percent saying it’s time for Levine to go.
Shelton has been extremely successful during his time on The Voice by mentoring six winners in the first 13 seasons: Jermaine Paul (Season 2), Cassadee Pope (Season 3), Danielle Bradbery (Season 4), Craig Wayne Boyd (Season 7), Sundance Head (Season 11), and Chloe Kohanski (Season 13).
Meanwhile, Levine has had three champs of his own. He mentored the very first winner, Javier Colon in season one, Tessanne Chin in season five, and Jordan Smith in season nine.
As for the constant parade of judges throughout the years, Christina Aguilera and Cee-Lo Green were in the center chairs during the first three seasons before they both decided to take a break. Then Usher and Shakira joined for a couple of seasons, followed by Gwen Stefani, Pharrell Williams, Miley Cyrus, and Jennifer Hudson. Aguilera has returned a couple of times, and Green just once in season five.
Network executives are reportedly “freaking out” over the possibility of Shelton and Levine jumping ship after this season, and a production insider says that the show has offered each of them a $5 million bonus to stay on until 2020.
Apparently, they are begging them to stay because they are sure that ratings will plummet without them.
Neither Shelton nor Levine has accepted the multi-million-dollar incentive offer, but they are both weighing their options before they decide to sign another contract.
Even though Cyrus is sitting this season out, it hasn’t stopped her from voicing her opinion on Shelton and Levine. NBC posted a series of photos of the judges on its Instagram account to promote the upcoming premiere, and Cyrus was quick to comment on Levine and Shelton’s photos.
On the pic of Levine, who is sporting a new mustache, NBC captioned it with, “You know you missed him.” Cyrus immediately responded, “But didn’t miss that stache.”
On Shelton’s photo, where he was sporting denim from head to toe while sitting in a rocking chair, Cyrus simply wrote, “Ew. Lol.”
Blake Shelton and Adam Levine return with Season 14 of The Voice February 26th on NBC.
