Blake Lively loved her cameo on the new Sesame Street episode. The 30-year-old appeared to be having a great time when she visited the series’ iconic characters including the Cookie Monster, Big Bird, and Elmo.
Blake posted a picture of herself hanging out on the set of Sesame Street with the caption underneath which said, “Finally. I have friends!”
The Town alum also shared an image of her green room on Instagram Stories, and the door was labeled, “123 Blake Lively.” The star wrote underneath, “My new home address.”
According to sources, “Blake is stoked to be on Sesame Street. So far, it’s been a lot of fun for her, and she and Ryan are both big fans of the series. Mostly for Ryan, who loves making fun of her for it.”
As you may know, Blake isn’t the only celebrity to make an appearance on the show. Some of the other celebs to walk on the set includes Ed Sheeran, John Legend, One Direction, Ryan Reynolds, and Katy Perry.
And that’s not at all, John Mayer, Nick Jonas, Queen Latifah, Adam Sandler, Michelle Obama, and many others have been on the PBS classic. As it was previously reported, Sesame Street recently brought in a new character named Julia.
The character has autism, marking it as the first time ever they’ve introduced a character outside of what’s traditionally thought of as “normal.” The purpose of Julia is to be more inclusive, for the sake of promoting a relatable image of autistic people, so our culture no longer alienates and “others” them.
Stacey Gordon, the puppeteer who plays Julia, said to 60 Minutes previously that as a parent of a child with autism, she wishes Sesame Street would’ve included them in the past. It would’ve made a big difference.
It’s those changes which keep Sesame Street relevant. The series first came on the air back in 1969 and has been active for forty-eight seasons on PBS, making it one of the longest-running shows of all time.
