Blac Chyna’s Instagram Marriage Proposal, Is It Really Romantic?

Blac Chyna may be the first celebrity to receive a marriage proposal on Instagram that wasn’t sent in a late-night, drunken DM. Chyna’s made recent news for a number of reasons, but in the height of what some may have viewed as an emotionally distressing time, Blac Chyna’s 18-year-old boyfriend Jay Bradley (aka YBN Almighty Jay) wanted to let the world know he was Chyna’s number one man. The post has received over 78,000 likes and more than 7,000 comments. As of the time of this writing, Blac Chyna hasn’t given an answer.
YBN Almighty Jay’s marriage proposal consisted of a picture of Blac Chyna with the caption “Will you marry me?” followed by a ring emoji.
Now, some are asking if the picture was a joke, serious, and if meant to be real, was truly a romantic way to ask someone for their hand in marriage.
Instagram is known for a lot of firsts, but if this proposal leads to a celebrity marriage, it will go down in the history books.
The comments on YBN Almighty Jay’s marriage proposal have been mixed and marked with cynicism. Many people asked if the Instagram proposal was a publicity stunt. Some disapprove of the age difference between YBN Almighty Jay and Blac Chyna as she is 11 years his senior.
Chyna has had several high profile relationships. She has a son King Cairo with rapper Tyga and a daughter Dream Kardashian with Rob Kardashian. It’s unclear if Chyna’s past relationships have put her off to the idea of getting married.
Typically a marriage proposal involves careful attention to planning. The setting is often a place of special importance and chosen for its sentimental value. The timing of a proposal is also something specifically chose and selected. An Instagram proposal seems a bit more random then choosing a holiday such as Valentine’s Day, Christmas, an anniversary, or birthday to pop the question.
What do you think about YBN Almighty Jay’s Instagram proposal? Do you think in this modern-day technological age asking someone to marry you on Instagram is appropriate? Is it romantic?
Do you think Blac Chyna should accept?
