Ariana Grande’s beautiful performance of Natural Woman made a lot of people who attended Aretha Franklin’s funeral cry on August 31st. Bill Clinton was not one of them.
It seems that the former president was having quite a jolly time while he was watching the singer give her lovely musical tribute to The Queen of Soul.
Fox News captured the moment in which Clinton was grinning ear to ear as Ariana was flipping her ponytail around.
Bill maintained his attitude also when he stepped on the podium when it was his turn to deliver his personal remark.
But it seems that his enthusiasm was not something inappropriate because he is a huge fan of Aretha’s.
‘We’re Aretha groupies. She had the voice of a generation, maybe the voice of a century,’ Clinton said.
‘This woman got us all here in these seats today, not because she had this breathtaking talent, which she did, not because she grew up as at least the princess of soul…but because she lived with courage. Not without fear, but because of her fears. She lived with faith. Not without failure, but overcoming her failure,’ he continued.
Another thing happened there which created a controversy.
Ariana gave an exquisite performance, but many voices believe that the moment was ruined by Bishop Charles H. Ellis III who touched her inappropriately and made an odd joke:
‘I’ve got to apologize because I have to brush up. My 28-year-old daughter tells me, ‘Dad! You are old at 60.’ When I saw Ariana Grande on the program, I thought that was a new something at Taco Bell.’
