Beyonce and Solange are back in the news because of their father, and they might not like what he has to say.
He has done it again, Mathew Knowles has angered fans of Queen Bey while promoting his new book entitled Racism: From the Eyes of a Child.
In a new interview, Knowles claimed that Beyonce and Solange would not be so successful if they were dark-skinned and threw Mariah Carey, Rihanna, and Nicki Minaj under the bus.
Knowles said: “When it comes to black females, who are the people who get their music played on the pop radio? Think about it Mariah Carey, Rihanna, the female rapper Nicki Minaj, my kids (Beyonce and Solange), and what do they all have in common?”
He also claimed that he dated white women because he felt like taking revenge on white men and confessed that he thought Beyonce’s mother, Tina, was Caucasian.
A person, who agreed, said: “I mean she obviously has talent, but I’m sure it’d have been harder to get where she is if she were darker. This is true cause I mean look at Kelly Rowland! Smh she has good music. I think there are more male dark skinned successful music artists too. He was just stating facts. I live in Canada, and I was once told, word for word, that I am the “perfect skin tone for breeding” by a much darker male friend. One of the weirdest moments in my life.”
Another commenter used Rihanna and Nicki to prove their points: “The conditioning of people’s minds is terrible.I mean Bey and Solange are crazy talented but let’s not act like colorism doesn’t exist. The same for Nicki, Cardi B, and Rihanna. Nicki’s skin is light caramel brown, but Rihanna’s is just as light as Beyonce’s. Rihanna often has a tan just like Beyonce, but you can find many pics of Rihanna where she didn’t have a tan and she is just as light as a white woman.”
While a third person bashed him: “So sad! It’s terrifying that anybody could be in that mindset at all let alone express it.”
Some say that Beyonce’s father is just trying to sell his book.
