Bette Midler took to her social media platform today to post an old interview with Barbara Walters where she revealed an altercation when Geraldo Rivera allegedly groped her when they first met. She said to Walters 26-years-ago, “Geraldo and his producer came to interview with me in the 1970’s,” and he was “hot” at the time.
According to Midler, they pushed her into the bathroom and they “broke two poppers” and pushed them under her nose and went on to “grope her.” Walters asked, “Grope?” She said she didn’t “offer myself up” on the altar,” and Rivera was “unseemly.”
Reaction to my tweets today on #sexharassment makes clear
I didn't sufficiently explain that this is a horrendous problem
long hidden-Harassers are deviants who deserve what is coming
to them-Often victims are too frightened to come
forward in a timely fashion-I humbly apologize

Midler said “tomorrow is my birthday” and she feels like the universe gave her the video as a gift.
She noted Geraldo might have apologized for his tweets regarding Matt Lauer, but he hasn’t apologized for the alleged groping which took place 26-years-ago.
As you may know, Geraldo apologized for his comments regarding the Matt Lauer scandal earlier today. Rivera previously said that a person couldn’t have an opinion other than “hang ’em dry.”
Geraldo said the reaction to his recent tweets regarding the sexual misconduct scandals illuminated the severity of the misconduct problem in North America.
He stated that long “hidden harassers” are a menace to society and deserve to be punished to the full extent of the law.
Additionally, a spokesperson for Fox News stated that Geraldo’s comments don’t reflect the thoughts of the network. They said they are “troubled” by his remarks. Matt Lauer and Geraldo Rivera are just one of many men to be accused of misconduct in the recent past. Charlie Rose was ousted from his position as a host following several accusations from interns and co-workers.
