Bethenny Frankel may be mostly known for being part of the Real Housewives of New York City, but the star is also a businesswoman whose Skinnygirl brand is pretty much an empire. That being said, Frankel made sure to share with the readers of MONEY magazine, some very important financial tips and apparently, number one is to make sure you are not in debt as much as possible when building a business.
‘You can’t put yourself in a position where, if the s–t hit the fan, you could not pay all of your bills at one time. If the world came to an end, I’d be able to pay everything. I might not be left with too much, but I can afford what I have,’ the reality TV star and successful businesswoman shared with the publication.
Knowing that she has the qualification to do so, Frankel also proceeded to warn some of her RHONY co-stars that they don’t really afford their lifestyles.
‘They can’t afford the lives they are living. And if the music stops, they are going to get in some trouble.’
It’s not to say that she’s never struggled financially.
In fact, Bethenny told the magazine that she once had $20,000 in credit card debt and struggled with money in general until her late thirties.
However, even when her brand became successful, Bethenny continued to be prudent.
‘Even if it’s buying a diamond—which I’ve done—I would like to be able to get a good deal on it. I do not like to be robbed,’ the star stated.
Perhaps the best advice she could have given the magazine’s readers was to just work hard and have passion for their field – also, don’t waste people’s time!
‘Most people are moving papers around a desk, pretending they’re working. If you’re a really hard-worker, you know it. And you will soar,’ the star concluded.
What do you think about her comment on the lifestyles of other Housewives? Do you agree?
