The Weeknd and his on-and-off girlfriend, Bella Hadid, are back together, but that does not mean that they will be parading their rekindled romance on this side of the pond.
Over the weekend, many including Selena Gomez were shocked after a few pictures and videos surfaced showing the Canadian singer and Bella sharing a passionate kiss while in France.
Now that the pair is back in America, they have decided to adopt a low profile because the model fears the backlash and is, therefore, keeping things under wraps.
She was already dumped and humiliated by The Weeknd who fled to Selena’s arms.
Bella is afraid of what her family and friends might say about the artist being back in her life.
She is also scared that some of her sponsors might drop her.
A source close to the model said: “Bella is extremely secretive about her status with Abel [Tesfaye] because her family does not approve. They haven’t forgiven him for the way he treated her in the past. He didn’t just break her heart; he demolished it. She hit rock bottom for a very long time after they broke up and it was her family that had to help her heal. They don’t want to see her go back to that dark place. They don’t trust him, and Bella gets it, she knows they are just trying to protect her.”
The insider added: “But she still loves Abel; no one else has been able to make her forget him. It is a struggle between her head and her heart. For that reason she hasn’t agreed to go all in with him yet, she’s not ready.”
Despite the shame, the model believes her love for The Weeknd will ultimately win him over for good and prove the naysayers wrong.
The pal also shared: “There are people who are going to judge her for taking him back after the whole Selena mess. It’s embarrassing and uncomfortable for her, but that’s not what’s holding her back.”
It was claimed that Selena screamed, “what the hell,” when she found out about the exes getting back together.
