Fans of The Bachelorette are curious to know what determined Becca Kufrin to take her chances and start looking for love on national TV! As you may already know, she was on The Bachelor first, but the process of joining the show started long before she even met Arie Luyendyk Jr.
While on the Straight Up With Stassi podcast, Becca shared that ‘It actually started years ago. Two of my co-workers applied for me and I got this random call one day from this guy named Scott from casting. I thought it was a joke at first.’
‘I ended up running into my former boyfriend at a bar, got back together with him, was with him for a little bit,’ she added.
In 2016, the two broke up for good and the new Bachelorette says she was feeling ‘kind of down.’
That is when, after a trip with a close friend, she took the decision to apply again.
‘Months later, I got a call again from casting saying we got your application. Do you want to move forward? I am single. Why not? What do I have to lose? Just thinking who knows what’s going to happen.’
She made it on The Bachelor, and she even got proposed to!
However, Arie changed his mind and dumped her, pursuing the original runner-up Lauren Burnham.
After this shocking turn of events, Becca was chosen as the next Bachelorette.
Becca admitted it took her a few months to get over what happened, but now she is doing great.
‘I spent time at the gym, journaling, reading. I was always with my friends and family because I wanted to feel like me again. I did not want to take away my sense of identity. I have been through bad breakups in the past…I did not want anyone to stop me from living my life and being me,’ she told the host.
