According to the Director of the Beauty and the Beast live-action movie, Bill Condon, Beyonce was offered the role of Plumette the feather duster. The man revealed on Tuesday that the superstar turned down the role, however, because it ‘wasn’t a big enough part.’
‘She would have been a good feather duster,’ Condon added.
As you may already know, the iconic role was ultimately played by Gugu Mbatha-Raw, star of Beyond the Lights.
The Director, who has worked with Beyonce for the 2006 musical Dreamgirls revealed that he cannot believe the artist has only ever done that one musical.
According to him, every musical director should check if Beyonce is available before starting a project.
Knowing how multitalented Queen Bey is, we can’t help but agree any musical production would be a hundred times better with Beyonce in it!
But Bey spent most of 2015 working on her well-acclaimed album Lemonade that was later nominated four times for the Emmys, 11 times at the MTV Video Music Awards and even won her a Peabody.
Condon praised the album as well, calling it ‘brilliant.’
Even though Beyonce did not accept the offer to appear in Beauty and the Beast, she was there at the movie’s premiere with daughter Blue Ivy back in March.
