The CW is getting ready for its annual crossover event between The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl — and this year will introduce a new character in Ruby Rose’s Batwoman. With all three shows getting ready for their fall premieres, here’s a look at everything we know about the massive DC Comics crossover.
The highly anticipated crossover will kick off over the course of three evenings. Starting in December, the crossover will begin on The Flash on Dec. 9, travel to Arrow the following night and end with Supergirl on Dec. 11.

That means Supergirl and The Flash will actually switch nights for that week, though it is not clear why producers went that route. Also, the 100th episode of The Flash will not be incorporated into the crossover.
This is the first year that the network decided to omit one of its Arrow-verse shows from the crossover. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the characters from Legends of Tomorrow will not be a part of the crossover.
There are simply too many characters to feature in the three-part event to incorporate Legends, and the series is completely different in tone and style than the other shows. Producers also wanted to focus on introducing Rose as Batwoman, a move they hope will lead to a standalone series for the character.

Speaking of Batwoman, The CW is hoping that Greg Berlanti will helm the new show, if all goes well in the crossover. The series will focus on Batwoman, alias Kate Kane, the first lesbian character to lead a show on the network.
Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) has already mentioned Bruce Wayne, so it’s possible that Batwoman will hail from Earth-1, though producers might tweak Gotham city a little more to their liking. Either way, it’s super exciting to see Ruby Rose in the role of Batwoman and we hope that the network launches her own shown following the crossover.
