Basketball Wives‘ CeCe Gutierrez and Bryon Scott are engaged! On Instagram, Bryon made the announcement that he and his reality-star-wife are getting ready to tie the knot.
As fans of the couple know, CeCe is a star on the series, Basketball Wives, and Bryon Scott is a retired NBA player and a coach. In a post that was subsequently deleted, Scott said that he was arguably the “luckiest man on earth.”
Scott revealed that he and Gutierrez met around 4 and a half years ago. And just six months after, they were dating, and two weeks ago, she became his fiancé.
Near the beginning of October, CeCe and Bryon were spotted hanging out with her Basketball Wives’ co-star, OG, and her man, Kwame Alexander. On her Instagram story, Gutierrez showed off her engagement ring.
This is great news for Gutierrez, who has had trouble getting along with other women on the set of the reality series. Previously, she was fighting with Evelyn Lozada in an argument that eventually crossed the line, but more on Lozada’s part than CeCe’s.
Evelyn and Jennifer Williams joked that CeCe was secretly a prostitute. After a confrontation with the two women, CeCe gave them their very own nicknames, Tweedle Dumb, and Tweedle Dumber.
Later on, they all went to Amsterdam together to smoke weed and things got worse between them when they went out for dinner. CeCe also gave Evelyn her very own nickname, referring to her as “Evil-Lyn.”
In response, Lozada referred to her as “Li-Li,” insinuating that she was Asian, which she is, partially. Lozada joked that CeCe was a nail salon owner, a common occupation among South East Asians, which has turned in to a common talking point for political activists over the years.
On social media, Lozada eventually apologized, partly because of the backlash online. Lozada explained that she understood why people were upset with her. “I understand why many are upset by my derogatory, stereotypical, reference of another woman of color,” the reality star remarked.
