Donald Trump’s 10-year-old son, Barron, was present at the inauguration on Friday after skipping most of the festivities this week. There is a lot of mystery surrounding the youngest Trump child. Supporters describe him as a handsome and mini version of his dad. Critics see him as an introvert and aloof preteen. Some of the naysayers including the new president’s biggest nemesis, Rosie O’Donnell, think he displays autistic traits. Others, who do not have skin in the game, believe that he should be left alone.
Barron witnessed the historic event like a young person, who did not want to be there. Nonetheless, there was a cute moment with his mother, Melania Trump, who tried to fix his blue tie.
Although they were all smiles, the grown children of the 45th US president did not interact much with their younger half-brother. At some point, they even left him behind, all alone, waiting for his mom to arrive.
As things started moving in high gear, Barron found some form of coping mechanism; he spent some time looking at the ground. An inauguration can be intimidating even for grownups, imagine for a child who did not ask for any of this.
Moreover, despite the bold appearances, even in Donald Trump’s team, many people did not expect him to win the presidency. The whole family will need an adjustment period.
It is is a
don dawn of a new era, some are hopeful, and others are fearful. Young Barron just seems not to care about all of this fuss. Typical or atypical, he is just a 10-year-old trying to fit in the new world order, just like a lot of other people.
