The film’s premiere day in theaters everywhere is right around the corner, and Barbra Streisand is convinced the A Star Is Born remake will be very successful. As you may know, the movie is the directorial debut of Bradley Cooper and stars Lady Gaga.
Streisand’s opinion is very well received considering she was part of the original 1976 version of the movie.
Furthermore, the film even won an Oscar for Best Music, Original Song for ‘Evergreen.’
During an interview with E! News, Barbra revealed whether or not Lady Gaga asked for her advice when preparing for the role.
‘Yeah, a little bit, I told her to do it live, and she wanted to do it live, so that’s good because that’s the best way to do it,’ she revealed.
Streisand who has already watched the movie, set to play in theaters starting October 5, added: ‘But their songs are different…it’s a good movie, it’s gonna be a hit.’
She went on to tease a bit about the film saying: ‘It starts like my old movie, with the concert and he goes to a club and finds her. But they were able to put some new things in it which I liked.’
But A Star Is Born was not the only topic of discussion during the interview as Barbra Streisand also opened up about her brand new album.
Apparently, it is a ‘mixture of original songs.’
It also includes ‘Don’t Lie to Me,’ a track Streisand co-wrote.
Yesterday, she tweeted: ‘Thrilled to announce that my new album WALLS is coming out Nov 2nd including a song I co-wrote, ‘Don’t Lie To Me,’ which is out now. This collection of songs reflects what’s been on my mind lately, and I look forward to sharing that with you.’
