Ever since the death of the Swedish DJ, Avicii, the entertainment world and his fans have been spreading “RIP” wishes all over social media, in addition to expressing their collective shock over the news of his passing. Emily Goldberg, the DJ’s ex-girlfriend, took to social media to speak on his name and his tragic death at 28-years-old.
Goldberg used Instagram to commemorate her ex-boyfriend and opened up about her most valued photograph together, in addition to a song he once wrote for her.
Emily uploaded some lyrics to one of his songs as well as her treasured photo of him; she stated, “I wish I could have lived up to” Avicii’s lyrics which allegedly were about her.
“Come on babe, don’t give up on us. Choose me, and I’ll show you love.” Those are lyrics from a song Tim wrote for me. I wish I could have lived up to them. For the two years we were together, he was my closest confidante, and my best friend. Now I can’t look at Bear without knowing I’ll never see his face again. I’m still collecting my thoughts and thank you for all your kind words and texts. Wake me up when it’s all over, because I don’t want it to be real ? #ripavicii #avicii @avicii
Emily said that the two years they spent together were great and he was her “closest confidante;” it’s been a difficult process dealing with the pain.
“Wake me up when it’s all over because I don’t want it to be real,” Goldberg said. Goldberg also shared a photograph of a text message exchange with the deceased DJ where they said that they loved each other.
A representative confirmed the news of his death on Friday morning when a statement was released.
The DJ was found dead in Muscat, Oman, Friday afternoon on the 20th of April. The rep explained there would be no more statements on the matter, and the public and his fans should respect the family’s privacy.
Some of Tim’s most famous colleagues including Skrillex, Tiesto, and Calvin Harris, sent their words of well wishes and commemoration to the late Bergling as well as his family.
